October is TERPECA Nomination Month

The most prestigious project in the world of escape rooms is back! Each year, TERPECA (Top Escape Rooms Project Enthusiasts’ Choice Awards) honors the very best escape room experiences—selected by the people who know them best: experienced players from around the globe.

TERPECA is conducted in two phases, collecting nominations and votes from enthusiasts who have played hundreds—or even thousands—of escape rooms. The goal is to highlight exceptional experiences that stand out through immersive storytelling, dramaturgy, technology, and game design.

With its strict rules, transparent methodology, and global reach, TERPECA is considered the most credible ranking in the industry. Among escape room fans, it holds the same weight as the Oscars in the film world.

👤 Who Can Participate?

✍️ NOMINATORS

Players who have played at least 200 escape rooms can become nominators and suggest up to 9 of their favorite games.
⚠️ Nominators may not propose rooms they are personally or professionally connected to (ownership, employment, family, design, etc.).

🗳️ VOTERS

Anyone who has played 100 or more rooms can become a voter and help rank the nominated finalists.

🇸🇮 What Does This Mean for Slovenia?

Slovenian escape rooms have long been known for their innovation, strong storytelling, and high production value—but making it onto the TERPECA list is no small feat.

Why?

  • Slovenia currently has only two official nominators: Nataša PotoÄŤnik and Peter ArÄŤon.

  • Due to the rules, they cannot nominate their own games.

  • In addition, fewer international nominators visit Slovenia compared to large European cities, reducing chances for foreign-based nominations.

🎯 Even so, our rooms have managed to impress the most demanding players in the world—those who have played over 3,500 rooms—and earned a place among their top 9 favorites. That is truly a remarkable achievement!

  • The Key – The Game

  • Enigmarium Maribor – Redlight Casino

  • Enigmarium Ljubljana – Cirkus, Operation Povodni MoĹľ, Return of the Werewolf

  • Enigmarium – Sensperience (which received the most nominations ever!)

Every nomination confirms that Slovenia belongs on the world map of elite escape room experiences.
