ER Champ 2026: the World Escape Room Championship invites Slovenian teams to take part
On Saturday, June 20 at 6:00 PM, the online qualifiers for ER Champ 2026 – the World Escape Room Championship – will begin, inviting teams from all over the world to compete from the comfort of their own homes.
To take part, you need a team of 2–4 players, a computer, an internet connection and a few hours to solve puzzles, decipher clues and put your teamwork to the test. The best teams from the qualifiers will advance to the grand live final in Poland. This year’s edition is especially festive, as it marks the 10th World Championship, and the game will take players into the world of Slavic mythology, among gods, demons, ancient secrets and trials.
ER Champ is much more than online puzzle-solving. It proves that escape room games are also developing as a mind-sport discipline, where physical strength is not what matters most – focus, communication, logic, quick decision-making and coordinated teamwork are the keys to success. Just like in sport, teams train, develop strategies, analyze their mistakes and compete against the best in the world.
This is why ER Champ plays an important role for the entire escape room industry. The organizers from Lock.me are doing exceptionally important work with the World Championship: they are placing escape room games on the international map, connecting players, creators and providers, and showing the wider public that this is a high-quality, creative and increasingly recognized form of active leisure. Lock.me emphasizes that every year, in cooperation with top escape room companies and developers, they create special final rooms for ER Champ, which become a true arena for the best teams in the world.
We are proud that Slovenia also has its own ambassador in this story. Nataša Potočnik, co-founder and creative director of Enigmarium and president of the Association of Escape Room Activities of Slovenia ER.SI, is the Slovenian ambassador of ER Champ. In this role, she encourages Slovenian teams to take part, connects the community of players and providers, and helps raise awareness that escape room games are a space of creativity, cooperation and top-level team thinking. Enigmarium’s official invitations present her as the Slovenian ambassador of ER Champ and host of events for escape room enthusiasts and members of GIZ ER.SI.
At the Association of Escape Room Activities of Slovenia ER.SI, we have been emphasizing for years that escape room games are much more than just entertainment. They are a test of cooperation, communication, trust, creative thinking and problem-solving under time pressure.
